The most basic aquarium lighting is fluorescent, which emits light thanks to two elements inside the tubes, the ionized gas and the fluorescent coating that changes its chemical composition with this gas. The main advantage of this type of lighting is that they are cheap, efficient and use little electricity. - Mercury vapor lamp:
This type of lamps, its operation is very similar to that of halogens. They must be suspended over the aquarium and at a certain distance from the water due to the heat they give off due to their operation.
They have more power than fluorescent ones and are very useful for lighting planted aquariums between 45 and 60 cm high.
- Led screen: One of the most demanded options for our aquarium lighting specialists are LED screens, since they have evolved a lot in terms of energy efficiency and quality. In addition to providing great light output and saving on consumption, they can emit light in very specific spectra, which translates into very precise lighting that is beneficial for photosynthesis. On the other hand, LED screens do not produce residual heat, so the temperature of the aquarium water does not increase. Finally, their intensity can be regulated and their useful life is very long, so they do not have to be replaced for several years.

Tipos de luz para acuarios:
- Fluorescentes par acuarios:
La iluminación para acuario más básica son los fluorescentes, los cuales emiten luz gracias a dos elementos en el interior de los tubos, el gas ionizado y el recubrimiento fluorescente que cambia su composición química con este gas. La principal ventaja de este tipo de iluminación es que son baratos, eficientes y gastan poca electricidad - Lámpara de vapor de mercurio:
Este tipo de lámparas, su funcionamiento es muy parecido al de las halógenas. Deben ir suspendidas sobre el acuario y a cierta distancia del agua debido al calor que desprenden por su funcionamiento.
Tienen más potencia que los fluorescentes y son muy útiles para iluminar acuarios plantos de alturas entre 45 y 60 cm
- Pantalla LED:
Una de las opciones más demandadas a nuestros especialistas de iluminación para acuarios son las pantallas LED, ya que ha evolucionado mucho en cuanto a eficiencia energética y calidad.
Además de proporcionar una gran potencia lumínica y ahorrar en el consumo, pueden emitir luz en espectros muy concretos, lo cual se traduce en una iluminación muy precisa y beneficiosa para la fotosíntesis.
Por otro lado, las pantallas LED no producen calor residual, por lo que no aumenta la temperatura del agua del acuario.
Por último, su intensidad puede regularse y la vida útil es muy larga, por lo que no hay que remplazarlos hasta que pasen varios años.
